Milanov reestablishes himself among world elite at Oslo and Stockholm Diamond League meetings

At the Diamond League stop at the Bislett Games in Oslo (15. June), Philip Milanov for the first time this season surpassed 66 meters in the discus, with his throw of 66.39m placing him 3rd behind ’17 world no. 1 Daniel Stahl (68.06m) and ’17 world no. 3 Fredrick Dacus (67.10m).  At the Bauhaus Galan in Stockholm (18. June), Milanov’s longest throw of 67.05m placed him 4th behind Dacres (68.36m), Stahl (68.13m), and Andrius Gudzius (67.39m)  It was Milanov’s third-longest career throw, behind his Belgian record of 67.26m (’16 DL Doha) and the 67.07m mark from Lokeren in ’16, and he now ranks 4th and 3rd on the ’17 world and European discus throw performance charts, respectively.

Other noteworthy performances by Personae-managed athletes in mid-June included Nicholas Bett in the Stockholm 3000m SC (3rd in 8:21.98), Purity Kirui in the Oslo 3000m SC (4th in 9:25.82), Ann Zagre in the Oslo 100m Hurdles (6th in 12.98), Emily Cherotich at the Kenya Police Championships 800m (2nd in 2:00.21), and Vincent Rono at the Kenya Police Championships 10000m (27:53.84).
