Hannes produces top European 1500m time of outdoor season

Pieter-Jan Hannes' 1500m clocking of 3:35.95, set in Hengelo on 24-May, continues to top the '15 European outdoor performance chart, as well as ranking 12th on the '15 world outdoor chart, for the event.

Pieter-Jan Hannes‘ 1500m performance at the Fanny Blankers-Koen Games in Hengelo rode the momentum established during the ’15 indoor season, when he on 21-February in Birmingham set a national indoor 1500m record of 3:37.40, surpassing the prior national mark of 3:38.01 set by Christophe Impens in ’97.  The mark ranked Hannes 4th – Europe/11th – World over 1500m at the conclusion of the indoor season.  His outdoor 1500m personal best of 3:34.49, set last year in Heusden-Zolder, is 2nd on the Belgium all-time list for the event, behind Impens’ outdoor national record of 3:34.13 from ’96.

Additional highlights produced so far this outdoor season by Personae-managed athletes include Philip Milanov‘s new Belgian record of 66.43m in the Discus (Europe no. 4) in Kessel-Lo; Bashir Abdi‘s 27:47.55 for 10000m (Europe no. 4) in Palo Alto, CA and 13:28.01 for 5000m (Europe no. 5) in Ostrava; Mitko Tsenov‘s 8:25.62 in the 3000m steeplechase (Europe no. 4) in Dessau; and Timothy Kitum‘s personal best of 2:17.62 for 1000m (world no. 3) in Dessau.
