IAAF World Championships Wrap-Up

Gold medalist Rose Chelimo (marathon) and bronze medalist Kipyegon Bett (800m) were the top performers among the 22 Personae-managed athletes competing at the '17 IAAF World Championships in London.

The two medals earned by Rose Chelimo and Kipyegon Bett in London were one short of the three medals earned by Personae-managed athletes at the previous IAAF world championships in Beijing (2015); however, the medals in China were silver (1) and bronze (2).  With nine top-10 finishes, the London group surpassed the show of depth by the ’15 Beijing group, which produced eight top-10 finishes.

The nine top-10 finishers in London were:  Rose Chelimo (Olympic Champion – Marathon); Kipyegon Bett (Bronze medal – 800m); Alice Aprot Nawowuna (4th – 10000m); Ruth Jebet (5th – 3000m Steeplechase); Eunice Kirwa (6th – Marathon); Celliphine Chespol (6th – 3000m Steeplechase); Winfred Yavi (8th – 3000m Steeplechase); Gesa Krause (9th – 3000m Steeplechase); and Purity Kirui (10th – 3000m Steeplechase).
